What is Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
NLP was originally developed by John Grinder and Richard Bandler in 1972 and is a series of techniques and procedures for 'coding' human behaviour. NLP is an and for all coaches and counsellors to help them understand what people do and how they do it it be able to perform it with excellence.
I use NLP with clients to help them improve their communication techniques with themselves (and with others) and to help them recognise their own expertise in areas of their life, thus learning they have inner resources that they use without even realising it.
Neuro - relates to the nervous system through which we process our experiences through our senses
Liguistic - relates to language and non-verbal communication
Programming - the ability to discover and use the 'programmes' that we run (our communication with self and others) to achieve a desired outcome.
NLP talks about the 'TEA' Model
NLP invloves learning to develop new ways of thinking about things by changing your internal 'map' and thus changing your current reality
